Monday Lunch Live
25 September 2023
With around 8,150 Australian and New Zealand women of all ages being diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer each year, it is important to discuss this crucial topic and understand how research can improve life for all women.
In this session, you will learn about the the importance of gynaecological cancer research, the work of ANZGOG (Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group), and its Survivors Teaching Students®️ (STS) Program.
Survivors and caregivers are in a unique position to help students understand the ‘lived experience’ of a gynaecological cancer, including the psychosocial impact, and the importance of timely diagnosis, good health communication and compassionate care. STS connects ovarian and other gynaecological cancer survivors and caregivers with the next generation of health professionals to teach them about their experiences.
