Evaluating how well new drugs work and any potential toxic side effects is essential to discovering new therapies – and gaining regulatory approval for use. In this webinar Dr Alastair J King dives into the world of database mining and how it can assist drug discovery for cancer treatment.

The failure rate of drugs in the early stage of clinical testing is unacceptably high, and in many cases, this is due to unforeseen toxicities or a lack of efficacy.

Although existing platforms like assays for assessing cellular activity and various toxicities are quite robust, these approaches have limitations.

This webinar explores the enormous potential of using large genomic and phenotypic profile databases in the evaluation of test drugs to more reliably predict the best tumours in which a drug might be expected to work, reduce the occurrence of unforeseen toxicities, and improve the overall chances of success when evaluating drug candidates during clinical trials.
