Evaluation of the Breast Cancer Mainstream Genetic Testing Program at the Parkville Familial Cancer Centre

An innovative new approach to mainstream breast cancer genetic testing is being undertaken at Parkville Familial Cancer Centre, part of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The mixed-methods study presented includes a retrospective clinical audit, a cross-sectional survey with breast specialists and a cross-sectional patient survey complemented by follow-up interviews with a purposively sampled patient subgroup.

Join us as we explore the experiences of patients and clinicians participating in the Parkville Familial Cancer Centre's (PFCC) mainstream breast cancer genetic testing program, and health service outcomes resulting from the leading-edge approach.

Our co-presenters, Ms Katrina Monohan and Dr Laura Forrest, bring their extensive expertise in genetic counselling and cancer genomics research to this presentation. They will provide invaluable insights into the PFCC's mainstreaming program and its impact on patient care.
